                PROJECT WORK HISTORY CLASS 12 


      Board of Secondary Education, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, in the session 2022-23, in class 12th, project work of 20 marks has been kept in the subjects of other faculties in addition to the subjects of science faculty.

In this way, a project work of 20 marks has also been kept in the subject of History which comes under Humanities.

Purpose of project work -

  • The purpose of school project work is to provide students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in a specific subject to a real-world problem or scenario.
  • It allows students to explore a topic of interest in greater depth, develop critical thinking, research and problem-solving skills, and create a concrete product or result that demonstrates their understanding of the subject matter.
  •   It aims to improve critical thinking, problem solving and creativity in students as well as instill a sense of ownership and pride in their work.
  • Additionally, school projects are designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about the process of research and develop the skills necessary to identify, collect, evaluate, and use information.

In Class XII History, the Board of Secondary Education, Bhopal has proposed writing a project work on the following guiding points: 
  • No1: City planning of Harappan culture, building construction, drawing of art and writing style; 
  • No 2 : Collecting five different notes and coins in circulation at present. Do both of these and describe what you see and compare them with five different signs of ancient times 
  • No. 3 Mark the five major edicts of Emperor Ashoka on the map and prepare a detailed plan on their main features 
  • No. 4  Travelers Perspectives Chapter Prepare a report showing the life history and works of any two of the travelers as well as their travels in a map. 
  • No. 5  Bhakti Sufi tradition selecting any two preaching saints, their life and teachings in Sanskrit with pictures Analyze while doing 
  • No. 6 Vijayanagara Empire gave a new dimension to architecture Explain with R. 
  • No. 7 Analyze the biography of local 4 freedom fighters of your village, city and district by marking their work area on the map with picture. 
  • No. 8 Keeping the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the national movement, write the main events of the movement in sequence and Outline on the map
  •  No. 9 As a student of history, visit every district from village and analyze the local art, culture, language and historical places on the following points Title. Introduction, Literature Review, Objective Hypothesis,  Method, Expected Results, Reference ,List of Re books
  • 10 Display the capital and official language of each state while making the political map of India.
Out of the above project works, it will be mandatory for the students to write at least 5 more project works in their project book. In addition to the above purposes, students can also write any other project A as per the instructions given by their teacher. In the annual examination, the student will have to write at least one project. 
Project work will have to be written in detail in the copy of your annual examination, as well as the project booklet of the project written throughout the year will also have to be submitted to the school.

Project Title - Comparative study of five different notes and coins in circulation with five different coins of ancient period

Objective - To compare five different notes and coins currently in use with five different coins of ancient times.

Method 
Five different notes and coins currently in circulation were collected from home and market apart from banks, post offices or any other financial institutions. The denomination, design, size and material of each coin and note were carefully observed.

              Five different coins of ancient period are not in circulation at present Some ancient coins were received from the houses of family and friends of contacts but could not understand to which period they belonged, so go to your books, online resources or local museum to find ancient coins Received information about. Meticulously observed the denomination, design, size and material of each coin.
        The notes and coins in use at present show many similarities and differences with the coins of ancient times in terms of denomination, design, size and material, which are as follows -

                  The country currently uses several different notes and coins for its currency, the Indian Rupee. Presently there are five notes in circulation --- Rs.2000, Rs.500, Rs. ,200, Rs. ,100, and Rs.50 notes.
Presently five coins in circulation are rupees- 10, Rs. .5, Rs.2, Rs. 1, and barely received and running 50 paise coin
Ancient Indian coins were used during different time periods and dynasties, and there were many different types of coins in circulation. Some examples of ancient Indian coins include:-

Struck coins: These were made of silver and were used in ancient India between the 6th century BCE and the 2nd century CE. They were called "punch-marks" because they were made by punching various symbols onto a blank coin.
Maurya Coins: These were made of gold and silver and were used during the Maurya Dynasty (321–185 BCE). They were depicted bearing the name of the king and various symbols such as elephants or lions.
Gupta Coins: Gupta Dynasty (320-550 CE) gold coins with the portrait of the king and various symbols like gods, goddesses, elephants etc. were prevalent during the period
Delhi Sultanate Coins: These coins were used during the Delhi Sultanate period (1206–1526 CE). He was shown the name of the Sultan and various Islamic symbols
Coins of the Mughal Empire: These coins were used during the Mughal Empire period (1526–1858 CE). The name of the emperor and various Islamic symbols were engraved on these coins.
                 It is important that these are only a few examples of ancient Indian coins, and there are many more types that were used throughout history. Ancient coins were generally made of metals such as gold, silver, copper and alloys. Current coins and notes are made of metal and paper, respectively, and depict various designs such as historical figures, national symbols and landmarks.
             A comparison of today's notes and coins with those of ancient times, in terms of value, design, size and material, shows many similarities and differences, which are as follows

Similarities:

Coins and notes, both modern and ancient, are used as a medium of exchange and store of value.
Both have a denomination, which is the value assigned to them.
Difference :

Modern notes and coins are usually made of paper and metal, while ancient coins were made of a variety of materials such as gold, silver, bronze, and copper.
Modern banknotes and coins are mass-produced using machines, whereas ancient coins were often handmade, allowing variations in size and weight.
The designs on modern banknotes and coins are usually simple and depict national symbols or important figures, whereas ancient coins often had complex designs and symbols, often related to the ruler or civilization that minted them.
The size of modern notes and coins is standardized, while the size of ancient coins varied depending on the civilization that minted them.
It is worth noting that some ancient coins had a denomination or inscription indicating their value, while others were valued based on the weight of the metal from which they were made.
                  In summary, modern banknotes and coins are primarily made of paper and metal, with standardized designs and sizes, while ancient coins are made of a variety of materials, with unique designs and sizes that vary by civilization. .
